The concept of plunge pools has proven popular with homeowners across Australia and here in Sydney it’s no exception. These compact pools are a great way to cool off in summer, designed for jumping into to quickly lower body temperature, hence the name. These cold pools are also perfect for cool-downs after a workout, or even cold water therapy.
While great for quickly cooling off, they do have limits when it comes to functionality. Until now—introducing Hot Spring® spa pools with the innovative CoolZone System. The CoolZone System works by lowering the temperature of the spa water to as low as 15°C, allowing you to experience a new world of versatility, health and wellness, and fun.
Dimensions
Conventional in-ground plunge pools are usually smaller than conventional pools, measuring around 2m to 5m in length and width and approximately 1.2m in depth. Usually the depth is the more important measurement for a plunge pool as diving in is the main draw!
However, even at these small dimensions, factoring in the additional space required for manoeuvring, fencing, or other potential earthworks to make the installation work demands careful planning. This is because plunge pools tend to be inground pools, rather than above ground.
In contrast, Hot Spring® 's take on the plunge pool is much more space efficient, with options starting at just 231 x 280 x 97cm. We also have options that are designed to seamlessly fit into corners, small decks, or even onto balconies in some cases.

Costs
Hot Spring® that are equipped with the CoolZone system offer the functionality of a plunge pool combined with a rejuvenating hot spa, giving you two for the price of one. By investing in a Hot Spring spa pool, you’re eliminating the limitations of a traditional plunge pool and giving yourself the choice of heated water and hydromassage too.
What’s more, the reduced water volume helps make CoolZone-equipped spa pools cheaper to fill and maintain. Add to that advanced features that help automate water care and offer incredible heat retention and energy efficiency and these spa pools redefine the meaning of affordable luxury.
Your Backyard Hydrotherapy Haven
Sydney's warm, subtropical climate means that locals are often looking for ways to quickly cool off, particularly in our hot and humid summers. This is what has made plunge pools so popular across the city - these compact pools, designed for a quick, refreshing soak, are a great way to cool off in the heat of summer, after a workout, or as part of cold water therapy. But they are limited in functionality to cold plunges and cold plunges only.
But there is another option: a Hot Spring hot tub paired with our innovative CoolZone System. CoolZone uses heat pump technology to lower the temperature of your hot tub water down to 15°C. And as soon as you are finished with your cold plunge, you can warm it right back up again!
Health Benefits
Cold water therapy can come with health benefits, but so does heated hydrotherapy. Why not invest in both? Hot Spring® spa pools provide effective pain relief for many chronic conditions including arthritis, fibromyalgia and can also help with managing anxiety.
Enquire NowSimplified Installation and Maintenance
In-ground pool installations are very often quite complex, and you may be looking at a typical install timeline of about a month.
Because Hot Spring® spa pools are self-contained and designed with a sleek footprint, installation is always a breeze, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy your plunge and spa pool combo much sooner.
